    Indie Publishers We Like

    • Alexis Greene
It was Greene’s publishing workshop at the first 50/50 in 2020 meeting that gave our Alexis (Clements), the inital bolt of energy to go ahead with the project. Greene has published in a number of outlets, indie and traditional.
    • NoPassport Press
Founded by the remarkable Caridad Svich, NoPassport Press is at the forefront of contemporary independent publishing in the performance community. They are definitely worth checking out, and not just because the catalogue includes our own Christine Evans.
    • Play: A Journal of Plays (and Paper Theatre)
This unique and beautifully realized journal was a big inspiration for our project. Editors Sylvan Oswald and Jordan Harrison have also branched into publishing plays on postcards, online and in audio format.
    • Plays and Playwrights
This series is part of the publishing wing of the New York Theatre Experience and it regularly includes some of the most interesting writers working in NY (including our own Crystal Skillman).
    • Soho Rep
Not every visitor to this theater realizes that they’ve also got a bookshop onsite where they sell a number of titles including scripts of many of the shows they’ve produced. Next time you’re there be sure to check it out.
